Kia Philippines is set to launch an all-new nameplate in the hotly-contested subcompact SUV segment – The Kia Stonic.
First unveiled in Frankfurt Motorshow in 2017, the Stonic promises agility and a fresh approach, as its name—a play of Speed and Tonic—suggests. Inspired by Kia chief Peter Schreyer’s European design language, the Stonic features smooth surfaces interspersed with geometric shapes for a fun and youthful vibe.
The look is complemented by projector-type halogen headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lights that provide a sleek appearance while enhancing visibility. Driving is made easier thanks to Rear Parking Sensors and a Reverse Camera while Electronic Stability Control and Hill Start Assist ensure safety while on the move.
Aimed at young buyers and families, the Kia Stonic is packed with tech features to keep up with today’s connected lifestyle. Its touchscreen infotainment system boasts both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for easy connectivity while a plethora of storage spaces can store various items securely.
While the Kia Stonic is new to the Philippine market, it has already garnered several awards abroad. Its sharp lines have been recognized by iF Design and Red Dot, both of which were awarded in 2018.
“The all-new Kia Stonic is set to change the subcompact SUV game with its youthful styling and impressive list of tech and safety features,” said Manny Aligada, President of Kia Philippines. “Its award-winning design should likewise appeal to young buyers looking for a feature-packed crossover that is as trendy as their modern lifestyle,” he adds.
