With the catchphrase “Style That Is Iconic,” Kia Philippines unboxed the latest nameplate added to its table – the new Stonic crossover.
The digital launch was led by AC Industrials chairman and CEO Arthur Tan, AC Motors automotive group president Antonio “Toti” Zara III, and Kia Philippines president Manny Aligada.
Tan expressed his firm confidence in the new Stonic, claiming that it will be a frontrunner for Kia in its bid to be one of the key players in the industry—alongside other volume sellers from its stable such as the Soluto, Seltos, and K2500.
Meanwhile, Aligada said that its latest model is designed to set a new trend in the local automotive arena. “For over 70 years, Kia has been innovating the way we design vehicles. Today, we are proud to launch the Kia Stonic—which has Style that’s Iconic. With a vehicle like this, we hope to be a driving force for you, the Filipino youth, who are on your way to where you want to go,” Aligada said.

Complete package
The Kia Stonic, as envisioned by Kia Chief Designer Peter Schreyer, expresses its European Design Language through its compact footprint and sharp lines that blend with the brand’s signature Tiger Nose Grille. This groundbreaking design earned recognitions from globally-renowned iF Design and Red Dot Awards.
The Stonic is packaged to fit the modern-day demands of the adventurous, young, and active buyers who want to express their unconventional taste in design and aesthetics. Standing 4,100mm long, 1,735mm wide, and 1,533mm high with a 2,570 wheelbase as well as a ground clearance of 185mm, the new Stonic has the right size to grab attention on the road, yet still makes it a comfortable, daily-driven vehicle on urban roads. It can hold 325 liters of cargo space with the seats upright, and even more when the rear seats are folded flat. To complete its sporty look, the Stonic ships with 16-inch alloy wheels.
The new Stonic is powered by a fuel-efficient 1.4 dual CVVT engine that is mated to either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. These combinations produce 93.7hp and 98.6hp, respectively.
The new Stonic ships with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as six audio speakers that come standard for all variants.
The EX variant comes with projector headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), while the LX is fitted with front fog lamps. Safety features include dual front airbags, three-point seat belts with pre-tensioners, ABS, Rear Camera with Dynamic Guidelines, ISOFIX child anchors, as well as child locks.
For more peace of mind, the EX variant of the new Stonic also comes with driver-assistive features such as the Parking Distance Warning, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Start Assist, smart keyless entry, and am illuminated push start button.

The new Stonic is available in five iconic colors: Prime Red, Clear White (for the LX variants), Extreme Blue (offered in all three variants), and the two-tone Black/Flame Orange, Black/Flash Yellow, and Black/Clear White (exclusive for the top variant EX).
