Chevrolet Philippines recently launched the 2024 New Generation Trax which is bigger and beefier than its predecessor. With the significant increase in vehicle dimensions and a roomier cabin, the new-gen model is now a crossover SUV that is 279mm longer and 51mm wider than the previous model, offering greater space for 5 passengers and cargo of up to 1405L. The new crossover is available in three variants: LT, Redline, and RS.
The new Trax introduces a bolder and more athletic look with the latest Chevrolet global design applied in the exterior with refined body contours and swept-back lines emphasizing its wide and muscular physique. The modern take on signature Chevy design cues in the fascia updated all LED lighting elements across all variants, and the unique wheel design perfectly accentuates the overall character of the vehicle.
The 2024 Trax comes with a new powertrain from GM’s line of new-generation engines and technology. Now powered by a rigid and lightweight 1.2L E-Turbo GM Prime 3-cylinder engine mated to a proven Gen III 6-speed automatic transmission, it produces 137hp at 5,000rpm and 220Nm at 2,500-4,000rpm.
More refined touches and tech upgrades can be found in the spacious interior of the New Generation Trax. The cabin is styled with a low instrument panel, accentuated by sweeping lines and design cues that emphasize the width, allowing better outward visibility and added sense of roominess in the vehicle. At the center of the dashboard is a large floating infotainment system with Smart Phone Integration that is conveniently canted toward the driver. The LT variant features an 8-inch touchscreen, while the Redline and RS trims have an 11-inch touchscreen and an 8-inch full digital driver information center.
