After 10 months of working remotely with the team and two months of actually being in the country, the new Ford Philippines Managing Director Mike Breen finally got to meet local Motoring media to personally introduce himself and share updates about the blue oval brand.
Strong 2022 Q1
Breen proudly shared that the Ford delivered robust sales in the first quarter of the year, selling 4,634 units that were led by the Ford Ranger and Ford Territory. In March alone, Ford sold 904 units of the Territory, which translates to a 51 percent increase from last year’s numbers.
With its strong retail performance in the previous quarter and in the previous month, the Ford Territory remained the leader in the small SUV segment, with an average quarterly market share of 54 percent and a 63 percent market share in March.
“We are off to a great start this year as we see the growing popularity of our Ford vehicle lineup among our customers, particularly the Ford Territory which continues to be one of the best-selling SUVs in the market today,” said Breen. “With the easing of travel restrictions and increased demand for safe mobility, we are optimistic that we will maintain the momentum in the next quarter together with our Ford dealers nationwide.”
Territory 10,000 Sales Milestone
Connected to the strong performance of the Territory, the Ford PH top executive also shared that the nameplate breeched the 10,000th customer milestone at the end of the first quarter, with sales reaching 10,758 units since its launch in August 2020.
“Our 10,000th Ford Territory sales milestone is truly an outstanding feat and would not be possible without the immense support from all Ford Territory owners. We are very excited for what’s to come for the Ford Territory in the country, and we look forward to seeing more Filipino customers own the moment with the Ford Territory,” Breen said

As an update to this, he mentioned that they had created a dealer council of sorts to give them a better venue to discuss and find solutions for challenges they face from their end. Ford has also added a “Live Chat” function to its website www.ford.com.ph where agents will be online to answer sales and service queries in real-time, from 8 am to 6 pm.
Lastly, when pressed about what’s in the brand’s pipeline for the year, Ford executives confirmed that the next-generation Ford Everest and next-generation Ranger will be launched in the second half of the year.
