Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) is sponsoring the Rally Driving Immersion Project (RDIP), a by-invitation-only race clinic to be held in partnership with the Philippine Rally School (PRS) and the Philippine Rallycross Series (PHRX). The event is happening on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at the rallycross facility of the Pradera Verde Estates in Lubao, Pampanga.
A brainchild of veteran motoring journalist Anjo Perez, the RDIP aims to provide journalists a better understanding of the rudiments of car control and racing. This additional knowledge will benefit not only the participants but also their respective readers as well.
“It is usually the motoring media who write about these races and it would only be fitting for them to experience and know exactly what a rally driver experiences during a race,” Perez said. “Hopefully after undergoing the Rally Driving Immersion Project, it will enable the motoring journalists to convey the first-person experience of the events or situations that transpire during such events.“
The PRS, with veteran rally drivers Jun Magno, Steve Acayan, and Denise Santos, will teach the participants the basics of rally driving in a controlled dirt course. Among the basics to be taught include proper driving position, rally lines (late apex), braking, car control, basic maneuvers, and driving on a skidpad.
The Isuzu D-MAX 3.0-liter 4×4 AT is the official vehicle of the RDIP. With its powerful 4JJ1-TC 4-Cylinder In-line DOHC Diesel engine with Turbo Intercooler that produces 161 HP maximum power and 380 NM of torque, it is a great vehicle to learn and play in the dirt track with.
The Rally Driving Immersion Project (RDIP) is made possible by the Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), BlackRhino Wheels, Nitto Tires, PIAA, SONAX, CTEK, Ichiro Motor Oils, Wuerth Philippines, and RedBull.
