Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP) has formally introduced the Geely Okavango, its 7-seater crossover that will change the game among the SUVs and MPVs. Known as the Geely Haoyue (VX11) in China, the Philippines is the first market outside of China to get the nameplate and is the third model in Geely Philippines’ stable since its debut in September 2019.
“Coming from the successful launch of the Coolray and Azkarra, we are confident that the new Geely Okavango will be a game-changer in the industry as it combines the best qualities of a multi-purpose vehicle and an SUV, into one exciting 7-seater mid-size crossover. This crossover promises to give you a luxurious, uncompromising, and ‘Wonderfully Distinct’ ride,” said SGAP President & CEO Mikihisa Takayama.
“The Okavango is aptly named after the Okavango River Delta in Africa, a vast and pulsating wetland which converges and diverges with a unique ecosystem and a myriad of species. Our Okavango embodies this energetic spirit with technology, to bring you a cross-over with extended space,” said Geely’s Shanghai Design Center General Manager Guy Burgoyne.
The Geely Okavango boasts of ‘Wonderfully Distinct’ features in areas such as space, technology, design, power, and safety. Seven adults can sit comfortably in its three rows of seats that have 19-seat configurations. The cabin has 42 storage nooks and compartments that include a double-layer console. The Urban variant ships with a triple-zone airconditioning system equipped with CN95 filter, allowing the driver, front passenger, and rear passengers to select their own desired temperature setting.
