Mototesto Overland Equipment, in cooperation with Petron Corporation, is mounting the 2022 Petron Philippine Overland Expedition: Pacific Coast Challenge, simultaneous with the 6th Philippine Overland Expo.
Happening on October 12-16, the 2022 Petron Philippine Overland Expedition: Pacific Coast Challenge will flag off at the LausGroup Event Centre in San Fernando, Pampanga, and end up in General Nakar, Quezon. Thirty (30) teams will tackle one of the most unchartered paths along the pacific coastline, composed of 160 kilometers of asphalt road, and 120 kilometers of gravel, sand, mud, rocky paths, and river crossings. Teams will earn points based on accomplished quests along the trail, and the team with the highest score at the finish line will be declared the country’s first-ever Petron Philippine Overland Expedition Champion.
Alternately, camping and nature-lovers can enjoy 3-days-and-2-nights of undistracted nature adventure at Camp 3 of the Overland Expedition with like-minded individuals who share the same passion and adrenaline for the extraordinary. They will be there to celebrate with the teams as they arrive from the trails on October 15 and witness the awarding ceremony.
Aside from the bragging rights, the event champion will take home Php 500,000 in cash. The second and third placers will receive Php 200,000 and Php 100,000, respectively, while two (2) special awards will be given with the prize of Php 75,000 each.
“The main goal of creating this event is to showcase the beauty of the Philippines, and strengthen the bond with our Mototesto customers while fostering unforgettable experiences with them,” said Tim Tuazon, the Event Director and President and CEO of Mototesto Overland Equipment Philipines. The move to partner with Petron Philippines is a collaboration that sees a long-term relationship between the oil company and the country’s growing 4×4 community, with its world-class quality products such as Petron Turbo Diesel, Diesel Max, and Rev-X. “The Philippines has the perfect terrain and topography for overlanding, and Petron products are the perfect partners in fueling our intense passion for this lifestyle. Hon. Eliseo R. Ruzol, Mayor of General Nakar expressed his appreciation at the press launch, as his municipality looks forward to gaining tourism opportunities that will uplift the lives of his constituents through this event. Part of the Petron Philippine Overland Expedition’s CSR initiative is to donate excess proceeds that can potentially be up to Php 1,000,000.00 to different communities in General Nakar.
