Nissan Philippines showcased its extensive vehicle lineup to bring its customers closer to innovative and sustainable mobility at the 8th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).
“Coming together for the first time in a while to celebrate innovation for the common good makes this event all the more significant,” said Nissan Philippines President Juan Manuel Hoyos. “Like this year’s PIMS, Nissan Philippines also strives to provide innovations and technologies that put the needs of the Filipino motorist at the forefront. Events like this undoubtedly raise awareness for this cause, and we’re glad to see it happening on an industry-wide scale.”
The recently launched all-new Livina took center stage as the Japanese brand’s latest launched vehicle. The seven-seater is Nissan’s entry into the MPV segment to cater to the needs of young and modern families who seek a practical and comfortable ride. Incidentally, the all-new Livina went on sale on September 15, 2022, the opening day of the motor show.
Also prominently displayed was the all-new Nissan Kicks e-POWER that literally flew off the shelves after its launch on August 12, 2022. The fully-electric motor-driven subcompact SUV is the brand’s bridge to full electrification that addresses range anxiety and high fuel prices.
The Nissan LEAF’s sustainability was also given the spotlight. An outdoor display was set up to feature where solar panels were used to charge the LEAF, which, in turn, powered the entire Nissan booth through its V2L or vehicle-to-load capabilities. The same technology can be used in emergencies such as blackouts and disasters as demonstrated during relief operations after Typhoon Odette (international name: Typhoon Rai) hit Cebu and the Visayas late last year.
The Livina, Kicks e-POWER, and LEAF were joined by the rest of Nissan’s core lineup that included the Almera, Terra, Navara, Patrol, and the legendary Nissan icon the GTR.
“The continued growth of Nissan is attributed to our increased focus on safer, smarter, and more sustainable mobility and we are happy to share our full vehicle line-up that highlights all of that,” remarked Hoyos. “We’re excited to be here alongside our fellow manufacturers, and see the work that the industry is doing to create a better world through electrified and innovative vehicles.”
