The new Honda BR-V 7-seater SUV is now available in all 38 authorized Honda dealerships nationwide. This was announced by HCPI president and general manager Noriyuki Takakura during the launch at Paranaque City last June 25, 2019.
Having sold more than 14,500 units since it’s launch at the 2016 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), the BR-V is the brand’s second best selling nameplate and deserves all the attention it is currently getting. Together with the Mobilio and the Brio, the BR-V is part of the more affordable line in Honda’s stable that aims to get more Honda vehicles to more households. Like the Mobilio, it features a spacious and comfortable cabin that provides ample legroom and head clearance for the budget conscious customers who need a vehicle bigger than the usual subcompacts.
“Last year, as part of our commitment to help grow the Philippine automotive industry, and as support to all our associates, we have decided to produce the BR-V here in the Philippines. This also means the BR-V will always be available to our customers with no waiting time.” Takakura said.

The New Honda BR-V is still powered by the 1.5 Liter i-VTEC Engine that provides 118 HP at 6,600rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4,600rpm. The engine is mated to Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Honda’s Eco Assist System that consists of the ECON mode and Eco-Coaching Ambient Light is also available to encourage drivers to drive efficiently.
Honda takes vehicle safety seriously and continuously works on improving the standard features of its products. The new BR-V comes with Honda’s G-force Control (G-CON) Collision Safety Body that dissipates G-forces in the event of a crash and disperses it away from the vehicle’s occupants on impact. Standard for both variants are Driver and Front Passenger SRS Airbags; Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD; Hill Start Assist (HSA); Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA); Speed Sensing Auto Door Lock; and ISO-FIX Anchors for child seats, making the new BR-V worthy of its 5-Star ASEAN NCAP rating in the Adult Occupancy Protection (AOP) category.
