The DIZO Watch 2 is one of the hero products of the newest technology brands to launch in the country. Being the first partner brand of realme, DIZO benefits from its principal’s support in three key areas: industrial design, supply chain, and an all-around AIot experience.
DIZO aims to offer various tech products that complement every consumer’s individuality, and become an extension of their unique personalities. This philosophy, a strong consumer demand, and a shared strategic vision are some of the reasons why realme decided to include the up-and-coming brand within its TechLife ecosystem globally, including the realme Link app which can be paired with most DIZO devices. I say most because the Watch 2 pairs with the DIZO app.

Design
The DIZO Watch 2 has a big 4.3cm (1.69″) screen size that makes it easy to read and navigate through its functions. The curved glass gives it a polished look, and blends well with the premium look and feel of the Zinc Alloy body. It only has one button located to the right of the face and its function is to wake the screen up and serve as a back button for the menu. At the back of the watch is are the charging points that connect to the magnetic charging cable, as well as the sensors for the health monitoring functions.
Hardware
The DIZO Watch 2 has a built-in 260mAh Polymer Lithium battery that the brand claims can last 10 days on a full charge and up to 20 days on standby. The touch screen is responsive and even under direct sunlight, the display does not totally wash out.
The DIZO Watch 2 is equipped with a 3-axis accelerometer, a heart rate sensor, a blood oxygen sensor. While they are not medical-grade, the sensors are comparable to other home devices, such as a pulse oximeter.
The watch uses Bluetooth 5.0 to sync with the DIZO app that is currently dedicated to the brand’s smartwatch line.
User Experience
I found it odd that you can’t use the watch straight out of the box. The first thing you need to do is connect the watch to its charger to activate the watch (the device turns on almost instantly upon connection to the charger), and then then it prompts you to pair (bind) it to the DIZO app where you can control the settings. You can also just pair with one device even if you use the same account to log into the DIZO app. After pairing, navigating the watch and the app is painless.
As with other devices, the first battery charge drains a bit faster than the brand claims. This is because playing with the settings and testing all the features use a lot of juice. Normal
usage and battery drain should be achieved after several charging cycles once you stop changing dial faces and are satisfied with your settings. True story.
I used to think that sports trackers and smartwatches with smaller faces and screens were more comfortable to wear. However, after trying out several devices, I have realized that bigger screens are easier and more convenient to use (especially if you workout without glasses – you don’t need to squint).
For the ordinary Joes who have no use for the 15-identified activities (Outdoor Run; Outdoor Walk; Outdoor Cycle; Indoor Run; Strength Training; Football; Cricket; Badminton; Jump Rope; Rowing Machine; Elliptical; Swimming; Yoga; Mountaineering; Free Training), at its most basic, it can tell you how many steps you made in a day and the corresponding calories you burned. Targets can be personalized to fit your preference and/or fitness level.
While some functionality is common and may not seem impressive, there are some that I find very useful in daily life. One of the most basic is the reminders function that you can set to ping you when you need to stand up and take a stretch; take a drink and hydrate, and remind you of the alarms you’ve set. The flip side of this is that if you set it to ping you all of your notifications, constant alerts (like from Social Media) can be a bit distracting.
For obvious reasons, the Find Device/Find My Phone function can also be a Godsend for many. And something new (to me, at least) is the Female Health tracker that can tell you which stage of your cycle you are in with just a few taps on your watch.
For those who do not need a highly technical fitness tracker, this stylish yet affordable smartwatch is worth a look-see.
Value / Price / Availability
The DIZO Watch 2 has an SRP of Php 1999.00. As the price point indicates, the brand is putting out functional yet affordable technology that can be accessed by a bigger market. Its looks and feel are comparable to other more expensive brands, even if the tech is basic not as sophisticated.
